Javascript or jQuery? Which one should I learn first?

Also, what should I start with for either?

It would be better if you first learn basics of Javascript, i.e. if you spent an hour or so going trough JavaScript syntax and perhaps try out a few examples. This is because JQuery is made of JavaScript. And you can use regular JavaScript with JQuery.

This is not to say that there aren't people out there who just went trough jQuery basics (i.e. how to implement it on a web page) and are using simple jQuery functionality (i.e. show/hide for html elements) or adding jQuery plugins to their web pages.

This might be a nice starting point for javaScript: - I suggest you go trough as many items in the list on the right.

Not sure what I would recommend as a starting point for jQuery (perhaps try a few 'jQuery for beginners' Youtube videos), but I can sure say that after you take that first step, jQuery API documentation is a very good reference guide:
